ServiceDesk Plus is designed to automatically increment the request id based on the current sequence however if a request is merged as a conversation to another request, then the request id will not be available in the list. This is the current design and it is not possible to modify this behavior. If you run a report on the application for the request count, it will provide you the exact count for auditing purposes.
