Hi,
Create an user additional field under Admin --> User Additional Field, this will show-up under Admin --> Active Directory --> Import Requesters from Active Directory, the AD attribute corresponding to 'employee id' field is "Employee ID"(case sensitive). Perform an AD Import and check whether the value is updated for every user. Kindly let me know if you need further assistance.
