Update without running a backup

I ran a backup by hand last night. Today then I try to update it is telling me a backup is recommended and trying to run one. Is it possible to force not to back anything up when I'm doing an update? I'm on build 7611 and I need quite a few updates.

I am having the same problem.

I just completed the installation on a Windows Server 2012 machine. When I run the application, it just opens up a blank browser window. I do not even get to the Login Page to log in

Hi,

Kindly let us know whether are you using an Alias URL to connect to servicedesk when you are connected on VPN, if yes then can you enter the server name or ip address of the server along with the port number and check for the connectivity. Please let me know the status for further assistance.

unable to restore data from fullbackup

I try to restore data to fresh SDP 9019 from fullbackup.
I have a 3 backup files
backup_postgres_9019_fullbackup_09_25_2014_15_00_part_1
backup_postgres_9019_fullbackup_09_25_2014_15_00_part_2
backup_postgres_9019_fullbackup_09_25_2014_15_00_part_3

When I run restoreData.bat there is possible to select only one filename, therefor I select first one.

During restoring data I have a next errors, and the process is stoped and in ServiceDesk directory a lot of ***.sql files.

Login Issues to SD+

Having a weird issue with SD+.  New instance, fresh install, new server.
  • Users have imported from AD fine.
  • LDAP is configured and connecting fine.
  • If I make a user on the SD+, instead of importing it, and log it in to Local, it works fine
  • The Admin account works fine (on local)
  • dB is MSSQL (same as the original instance)
  • No account, be it a requester or technician, will log in with domain credentials, it just says
    • "username or password incorrect"
  • The same account still works fine on the original instance of the SD+

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi Julian,

Kindly login as a user with administrator privilege and go to Admin --> Windows Domain and check the name of the domain with which you are trying to login to Servicedesk. If the name of the domain is listed in lower case then please change it to be in capital letter and then check for the issue.

If the domain is listed as 'test.com', change it as 'TEST.COM'. If this is not the issue then I request you to send an email to support@servicedeskplus.com and mention this forum post to identify the request.

When I log in as the Administrator (local) I don't get an option for Windows Domain under Admin.  Not in it directly, or any sub fields.

Under Admin -> Users -> Active Directory I have "Enable Active Directory Authentication" ticked.
Under Admin -> Users -> Active Directory I have Import Scheduled for once per day ticked.
Under Admin -> Users -> LDAP I have a domain controller set, and configured for the domain in the Base DN, and it works fine.  Both checks and doing an import.

E-Mail on the way as well.

Re : VNC Viewer setup

Hi Ahmad,

It depends on the installation directory where the VNC software is installed on a particular workstation. If you have installed it in program files then go to the VNC installation directory and identify the directory where the VNC Viewer executable is available.

You will have to add the installation directory until the location where the executable is present in the workstation environmental variables, so that upon entering the executable variable name on the command prompt(for example 'vncviewer' or 'vncviewer.exe') the VNC Viewer should open up.

You will have to enter the executable variable name in the application and the location where the variable is present should be added in the workstation environmental variable.

AD Import on a Linux install

$

We have a fresh SDP install in a Linux environment.  However, when I try to "Import Requesters from Active Directory," I receive an error that states; "Active Directory Authentication is not supported in the Non-Windows installation."

How can I import requesters from AD, Enable AD Authentication, and Enable Pass-through Authentication?

Thank you!

Problem with SDP from the outside

Hi,

I'm having an issue with SDP from external access, not on the LAN.

I've the server in my LAN and all users can access to it.

But I've made a reverse proxy with nginx to access from DMZ to the server. I've made a subdomain of my domain and redirected to the DMZ proxy reverse. That DMZ proxy also redirect to my LAN Server. I think is a good idea to not expose the server to the internet.

But in this scenario I've issues that sometimes the server don't respond from the external URL.

I need help.

Thanks,

Ricard Marti.

Hi,

Is this an issue in you production server or in a test environment?

Perform the below steps.,

1. In the command prompt, go to ..\ManageEngine\servicedesk\bin>stopDB.bat   (execute)

2. then, ..\bin>startDB.bat 65432        (execute)

3. change directory to ..\ManageEngine\servicedesk\server>reinitializeDB.bat    (execute)

4. you will find a file named restorelist.txt in the same location, delete it.

5. Once again change back to bin folder., ..\bin>run.bat     (execute)

6. It will start the application, now kill it by issuing Ctrl+C in the command prompt.

7. Once again try restoring the data, choose only part 1 file, rest of the files will be automatically restored.

Hello.
Thanks for the answer.

I try to restore data in a test environment from my production server.
But i think the problem on the production server.
When I look into the ConfigurationRecord.sql (in backup.data) I can see a several duplicated strings.
Same story with the SDeskAttachment.sql file (a lot of duplicated strings).
For some reason these lines are duplicated each time during the backup procedure.
May be something wrong with my production server?
How can I fix this issue on a production server?
